Meanwhile there were shock defeats for Man Utd and Chelsea, while Luis Suarez continued his recent great form. There was also a midweek round of champions league to discuss, with Chelsea under some pressure facing a tough trip to Turin, while Man City need the beginnings of a miracle at home to Real Madrid.
